" Salah Al-Din was born in 1138 in modern Iraq but he grew in Damascus . He was a great religious , brave ,fair, intelligent and generous man. In 1169, Salah Al-Din helped win Cairo back for Damascus and two years later, he became Egypt's ruler . In 1174, he took over Syria and with this ; he had united much of the Muslim World in just a short time . Next came Jerusalem.
